Westbrook played college basketball at UCLA before being drafted fourth overall by the Seattle SuperSonics (who later became the Oklahoma City Thunder) in the 2008 NBA draft. He played for the Thunder for 11 seasons, earning numerous accolades, including being named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2016-2017 season.

In 2019, Westbrook was traded to the Houston Rockets, where he played for one season before being traded again to the Washington Wizards in 2020. As of 2021, he is still playing for the Wizards.

Westbrook is known for his athletic ability, particularly his speed and explosiveness, and his ability to rack up triple-doubles (double-digit totals in three statistical categories) on a regular basis. He is a nine-time NBA All-Star, a two-time NBA scoring champion, and has led the league in assists three times.
